A major oil company called Energy Transfer has sued Greenpeace USA and Greenpeace International in an attempt to silence our movement. In what an independent trial monitor called the most unfair trial he had seen in six decades of legal practice, a jury has found three Greenpeace entities liable for $660 million in damages. The company has accused Greenpeace USA of organizing protests against its oil pipeline project in North Dakota — **rewriting the history of the movement led by the Standing Rock Sioux** in defense of their land and water.  This lawsuit threatens Greenpeace in the USA and could set a **dangerous precedent against the right to protest**, putting our entire movement at risk. This isn’t just about Greenpeace; it’s about all of us.
